About Us

Welcome to Sunshine Ln.

Sunshine Ln. Pottery creates organic, functional ceramics meant to be held, used, and lived with.

I’m Casey Howse, a ceramic artist with a BFA in Ceramics from Clemson University. My work is rooted in a deep connection to material, repetition, and the quiet rhythm of making — the kind of work that feels grounding rather than rushed.

Sunshine Ln. is named after my dogs, Sunny and Layne, and reflects the feeling I have with them and the feeling I have in the studio: comfort, presence, and familiarity. I couldn’t imagine building this practice without them at the heart of it.

My work is inspired by texture — both visual and physical. I’m interested in the moment when you look at a surface and wonder, can I feel that, or do I just see it? Some texture is meant to be touched, some is meant to catch the light. Both are intentional.

I make functional pottery — mugs, bowls, platters, and everyday pieces — designed to become part of daily routines. As a potter, I don’t feel my work is complete until it finds a home and is used. These pieces are meant to feel familiar from the very first time you pick them up.

Sunshine Ln. Pottery releases work in small, limited series and takes custom commissions. If you have something in mind, you’re always welcome to reach out.

Meet Sunshine (Sunny)

Hi, I’m Sunny.
I’m exactly what my name suggests — gentle, warm, and always happy to be here.

I love everyone I meet, especially my sister, Layne. I believe everything is better when we’re together — long walks, quiet afternoons, and days spent in the studio while pottery slowly takes shape.

My mom says I’m the nicest creature she’s ever met. I think she might be right.

Meet Ln. (Layne)

Hi, I’m Layne.
I’m sweet, occasionally sassy, and a firm believer in personal space.

I love people more than dogs, snacks more than almost anything, and snuggles — but only when the timing feels right. I like things calm, familiar, and close.

Sunny pretends not to notice how much I worry when she’s gone. I pretend not to either.
